Gracie South Bay Jiu-Jitsu Academy in National City was founded by world champion Leticia Ribeiro and UFC Veteran Fabricio Camoes. Gracie South Bay provides training to those of all ages and different interest levels. Their students range from children four years old to senior adults. I recently stopped by the academy with my two grandchildren. I spoke with Leticia to hear her story.
About
Leticia’s passion for Jiu-Jitsu began in Brazil when she was 14 years old. In Brazil, Leticia was an athlete and later shared her skills with others when she started teaching. In 2007, Leticia came to the United States to compete on a global level as well as teach others.
Difference
Leticia believes Gracie South Bay Jiu Jitsu offers a unique experience to its students. The difference between Gracie South Bay and other academies is the family environment. The academy has parents and children training together. Gracie South Bay trains everyone from world champions to beginners.
Values
Gracie South Bay Jiu-Jitsu enforces the importance of competition and encourages its students to compete. What I like most about their philosophy is that the academy enforces the importance of doing your personal best, not on winning or losing. Students build confidence on and off the mat and learn discipline.
Located at 340 W 26th Street in National City, Gracie South Bay Jiu-Jitsu is right off the I-5 Freeway and Mile of Cars exit. The academy offers the community a terrific location for personal training services with state-of-the-art equipment in a fun and encouraging environment.
If you’re looking for a great way to increase your physical fitness, learn self-defense, or increase your child’s coordination, confidence, and self-defense skills in a non-violent manner, head to Gracie South Bay Jiu-Jitsu. When you speak with Leticia, make sure you tell her I sent you!
